General Surgery

Dr. Rosenbek's strong interest in general surgery, meticulous attention to detail, and careful technique has earned ACAH a well-deserved reputation for being a good choice for your pet's surgery.  The choice of very safe anesthetic drugs, tailored to each patient's specific needs, and modern patient monitoring allows our doctors to safely perform surgery on patients throughout their lives, from juvenile to geriatric.  Dr. Rosenbek was the first veterinarian in the area to offer juvenile spays and neuters and many of our patients needing cancer surgery or advanced oral surgery are well into their teens.

All surgical patients receive pain-relieving medications starting before the surgery and continuing after.  This obviously makes the experience less stressful for the patient, but also helps speed healing.

Sterilization surgeries (spays and neuters) make up the bulk of the surgical cases at ACAH, but we also perform thyroidectomy, anal sacculectomy, tumor removals, entropion and ectropion correction, cherry eye surgery and some orthopedic surgery.  Dr. Rosenbek has a strong interest in wound care and reconstructive surgery and grafting, as well.
